 Thank You to Our 2016

'Upbeat Like Millie Vine A Cure LMS Fundraiser' Supporters!

On the evening of Saturday, October 22, 2016, an extraordinary group of individuals came together to vine a cure for LMS. To those ‘Upbeat Like Millie Vine A Cure LMS Fundraiser’ sponsors, attendees, donors, volunteers, and entertainers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. We successfully raised $12,000 for Dana-Farber Cancer Institutes LMS Research Department! As my Mom, Millie, would say, “You did good!”

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our sponsors; 100% Martial Arts, Baribault Jewelers, Bill’s Seafood, The Fox Family, The Doggie Castle of Cromwell, GreatBlue Research, Greeno Packaging & Maintenance Supplies, Highland Park Market, Meslin Pediatric & Family Dentistry, The Miller Family, and Sweet Madeline’s. Our third annual ‘Upbeat Like Millie’ event could not have happened without your generosity. You are most appreciated!

Thank you Kent Hurlburt for your time, support and contagious enthusiasm as you shared your stories about Millie, educated our guests about leiomyosarcoma, and encouraged us all to do what we can to help raise LMS awareness and continued funding for research. You are truly a gift to our ‘Upbeat Like Millie’ events!

To the extremely talented and upbeat members of the band, Small Town Roots; Tim, Chris, Gerry, Matt, Cassie and Mike, we thank you for entertaining our guests and for making our event come alive! We could have stayed well past midnight listening to you!

A big beautiful thank you to Janine Van Riper, our fun-loving photographer for the evening! Your pictures captured the laughter, the heart-felt tears, the oodles of love and support, and the overall positive and upbeat mood of the evening. We are truly grateful to you to have these pictures of our special event!

Thank you to Chamard Vineyards for providing the perfect venue and autumn backdrop for our event. Your food and wine was out of this world and your staff went above and beyond to accommodate our guests. It was such a pleasure working with you Claire!

Thank you to Joy and the staff of Corporate Caterers for serving our guests Harvest ales and Foxon Park soft drinks with a smile!

Thank you to those who supported our fundraiser through your kind-hearted silent auction donations; Suzanne Balducci, Caribbean Charm Boutique, Connecticut Science Center, The Cassanelli Family, Goodspeed Musicals, Fencers School of Connecticut, Cathy Evans of Thirty-One, Glastonbury Hunt Club, Quarry Ridge Golf Course, Roosters Men’s Grooming Center of Glastonbury, Veronica Pagani-Kraus, Central Rock Gym Glastonbury, Greeno Packaging & Maintenance Supply, Fox Hopyard Golf Club, Stephanie Tishler of Tishler Coaching Services, Rich Scalora and the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, The Vigeant Family, The Fox Family, Launch Trampoline Park of Hartford, Bounce U of Rocky Hill, Jackie Orfei-Pagel of Sensations Day Spa, and Lenny’s on the Beach!

Thank you to Mary Moss, our Jimmy Fund Special Events Development Officer, you are a complete joy to work with! Your assistance, guidance, dedication, and efficiency in helping us to plan a successful fundraiser was greatly appreciated, as was the time you took to battle the stormy weather to get to our event!

Our third annual ‘Upbeat Like Millie’ LMS Fundraiser was a great success thanks to the generosity of so many extraordinary people. Our dedication to raising awareness and funding for continued research is vital, for you just never know when the next major breakthrough will be. In a split second a discovery could make an incurable disease curable, or a fatal one into one that is manageable. It is important that we all lend a helping hand, in some fashion or another, for cancer effects us all. We thank all of you for your ongoing support!

Fondly,
